Золушка (Cinderella)

Once upon a time, there was a kind girl called Cinderella. She lived with her father, her stepmother, and her two stepsisters. They were not nice to her.

Cinderella did all the housework. She cleaned the floors, washed the dishes, and cooked the meals. Her stepsisters were lazy and did nothing. They made fun of Cinderella every day.

One day, the king sent out a letter. There was a big party at the palace. The prince wanted to find a wife. All the girls in the kingdom were invited.

Cinderella wanted to go, but her stepmother said, "No, you must stay home and work." Cinderella was very sad.

Then, a fairy godmother appeared. She said, "Don't cry, Cinderella. I will help you." She turned a pumpkin into a carriage, and mice into horses. She gave Cinderella a beautiful dress and glass slippers.

The fairy godmother said, "You must come home before midnight. At midnight, the magic will come to an end."

Cinderella went to the party. She looked very beautiful. The prince fell in love with her at once. They danced all night.

At midnight, Cinderella ran away. She left behind one glass slipper on the stairs. The prince picked it up and said, "I will find the girl who fits this slipper."

The next day, the prince went to every house in the kingdom. Many girls tried on the slipper, but it was too small for them. At last, he came to Cinderella's house.

The stepsisters tried on the slipper, but it did not fit. Then Cinderella tried it on. It fit perfectly! The prince said, "You are the girl I danced with."

Cinderella and the prince got married and lived happily ever after.
