In a land far away, there lived a beautiful princess called Snow White. Her skin was as white as snow, her hair was as black as night, and her lips were as red as blood.
Snow White's mother was dead. Her father, the king, married again. The new queen was very beautiful, but she was also very proud and cruel. She had a magic mirror. Every day she asked, "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?"
For many years, the mirror said, "You are, my queen." But one day, the mirror said, "Snow White is the fairest of them all." The queen was very angry. She turned pale with jealousy.
The queen gave an order to a hunter. She said, "Take Snow White into the forest and kill her." But the hunter was kind. He could not do it. He said, "Run away, Snow White. Don't come back to the castle."
Snow White ran into the forest. She was scared and alone. She walked all day and all night. At last, she found a little house. She went inside and saw seven little beds. She was very tired, so she fell asleep.
When the seven dwarfs came home, they saw Snow White. They were surprised. They said, "Who is this beautiful girl?" Snow White told them her story. The dwarfs said, "You can stay with us. You can cook and clean, and we will take care of you."
Snow White lived with the dwarfs and was very happy. But the queen's mirror told her the truth again. The queen was very angry. She made a plan. She made a poison apple and dressed up as an old woman.
The queen went to the dwarfs' house. She gave Snow White the poison apple. Snow White took a bite and fell into a deep sleep. The dwarfs came home and found her. They were very sad. They put her in a glass box and cried for many days.
One day, a prince came to the forest. He saw Snow White in the glass box. He fell in love with her at once. He kissed her. The poison apple came out of her mouth, and Snow White woke up.
The prince and Snow White got married and lived happily ever after. The queen was never seen again.
